I got a hold of a 93 SE and am going to switch the differentials. I know my 90 chassis isn't an ABS car like the 93, but when I take the diff out of the 93 and put it into my 90 and the open diff into the 93, is the abs still going to work properly in the 1993? More importantly, will the brakes still work properly in the 1993?

I don't mean to say this in a lame way, but the search button is where it's at for lsd compatability questions. And I don't know the answer to your question otherwise I'd post up, but yeah. I'm sure you can find it (upper right) by searching.

First, look at the vlsd. It should have an abs ring on the snout of the differntial. This is what lets the abs computer know the speed of the rear tires. If this is not there, abs will not work. Your brakes will still work though.

Depending on how you define properly depends on if they will still work "properly" or not.

I figured by common sense that the brakes would still work, but the ABS system would not. I was looking for a little reassurance because I had planned on still driving the lsd donor car. : )

Project S13: The question wasn't so much about compatability, it was about whether the brakes would still work, not the fitment of the differential. I'd hate to have adverse effects such as the rear brakes not working at all because I didn't have a sensor to hook it up to.

depending on what parts you swap the propeller shaft may be an issue. on abs cars the shaft is shorter to account for that abs sensor on the diff.
