hi everyone, I'm new in the club. I got a 91 240sx, but it is an automatic one, so I want to switch it to a manual transmission. I've went to many mechanics, most of them said they won't do it, and some say it is a $4000 to 5000 job!! So have anyone done that before, anyone can give me some advice? I've a friend who own a 4th gen celica, and his friend teach him to do that himself!! Can we do that ourselves to the 240?? if anyone know please tell me.

Yes it's very possible to do yoursel. The only really hard part is making the holes for the clutch master cylinder. Here is the install instructions from this site http://www.240sx.org/links/ins...p.htm

It's on a S14, but I believe it's the same for a S13.

Where are you located?

Buy an FSM and buy the tools, it shouldn't be anything that complicated, just basic hand tools. The $300 craftsman auto set is awsome, and if you're going to be doing car work you'll need it anyway.........
