Ok, today I put a new msd coil, and cap&rotor in and my car ran good but when it boost it was still hesitating. So I checked my z32 maf and at idle it was giving 1.1 volts, and at 4k rpms it was reading 1.5 volts so I guess its bad. So I took it out and put my stock s13 maf back in and the car just wont keep a good idle, its very jumpy and almost dies out. What settings should I set the s-afc to? Right now I have it at 5in 5out 4cyl arrow pointing up in a angle. What should the dec-air be set to? I have my bov recirculated back to the intake pipe. So I know the bov cant be the problem. My mods are t3/t4,walbro fuel pump, jgs manifold,1g bov, intercooler, and custom piping.

it could also be 4in 4out or 1in 1out...try all those combos as long as both numbers are the same. turn up the ne1 settings on the dec. air to see if it affects the idle. and also check your wiring again since you switched it back again

I checked my wiring three times so it cant be that. So I should try 4in4out and just keep trying different #'s till something works? Oh yah, for a recirculating bov what should I set the dec-air to start off with.

Ok, I got the car to idle, but now I cant pull fuel from the s-afc, it wont go any higher then 13.3 afr. At 1000rpms I set it to -40 and that did'nt do anything, I even tryed to mess with the dec-air settings, but it does'nt effect the afr. Has anybody had this happen to them?

Well idle shouldn't matter that much. What size injectors are you running? And what kind of plugs with what size gap? MY idle varies from 14.7 to 13.5 depends on temperature and humidity

Im running 370cc sr injectors, ngk bk6es-11 plugs that are gaped at .28. So 13.3 is normal at idle. Is there a reason that I cant lean out the afr at idle? when i rev my car in nuetral my lm-1 readings stay at about 14.9, but I could adjust the settings to lean it out or richin it up.

yeah for some reason with idle no matter how much you lean it out it wont affect it. just leave it, most of the time you'll be driving anyway..

BTW, thats how much my AFR's are at idle...just make sure your crusing AFR's are set

Thanks for the info the idle was really bugging me, but if its normal i'll just leave it alone and start tunning in a few days.

I just turn on my A/C and it keep smy rpms at 1krpm. Adjust your airflow for that.. My lowest rpm point was 1000 so it's all good. And due to open bov and a a coupel other thigns my car lieks to stall coming off boost but the a/c fixes it and keeps my temperatures down

huh? using a/c keeps your temps down? it should make your engine work harder....i know using the heater makes your engine cool though because it takes the heat from the engine

turning on a/c turns on the electric fan on the condensor. i guess it would let it run cooler

I did some tunning today, but got the same result my car runs good and smooth, but when it hits 5psi it feels like its not pulling like it should. My car just feels like its really slow. When it boost my car feels the same as when its not boosting. I changed the coil, cap & rotor, fuel pump, Fuel filter, and spark plugs. I even tryed to gap the plugs down to .28, but it didn't help. So right now im really stumped I dont know what the heck is wrong.

are you running a msd boost timing master?? if your are then your ecu is probably pulling timing automatically like some of the rare occasiosn we've been having with some of your ka-t's...this makes your car feel slow

No I don't have the boost timing master yet, I just have the base timing retarded to 17. I pulled my codes and all I got was 55, but that means nothing wrong right?
