Hey guys, the last 2 nights it's been getting a little chilly in Chicago. So I turned my heated seat on and the orange light on the little knob would shut off after about 30 seconds. The seat was not getting warm either. What could this be?

(The passenger side was working well though)

Do you hear the fan blowing? Might be a protection circuit to shut off if the blower isn't working or is shorted. I've heard of people completely removing their under-seat filters then dirt, hair (Especially long hair) and other stuff get's stuck in the blower. Lift the seat all the way up and reach under the front of the seat you should feel a square filter under there. It also could be the heater element. You could open your seat up and investigate if the element get's hot.

Great info svard..

I remember the fan use to blow when I'd have the cooled seat on in the summer. I have to see if it's still blowing.

Do I have to take anything apart?

The blower is mounted to the seat bottom. You'll have to remove the seat from the car and possibly the track (I haven't done this personally). Looking at the alldata schematic the blower appears to be accessible from the bottom with a couple of bolts. The filter element is attached directly to the blower. I would only do this after checking if the blower is actually making noise. I know in a quite area if I turn off my climate control but leave the seats on you hear the sound of air blowing.

Hey svard..

I checked it out last night. I put the heated seat on and it'll blow for about 10 seconds, then the light goes off along with the blower.

Also, I pulled my seat all the way to the front and guess what? My filter was just laying on the floor!!

I hope there is an easier way to re-attach it. It seems it hasn't been working because the filter hasn't been on for the last week or two.

Glad you figured it out. Do you have pets or women with long hair? Hair could have been sucked into the fan creating additional loading on the motor which is causing this condition. Take the chair off and motor out and clean it out.

No pets. Girl has long hair because I don't mess around with bald head hoes :mike haha

But the cars always clean. I haven't removed the seat yet. You think there is a way without removing it? I'll try to mess around with it over the weekend.

I still haven't resolved this.

I gotta get on it since the winter is coming. Is there a way other than removing the seat?
