How do you tell if there working properly? The push rod and lever for the valves on the back of my DOHC manifold don't ever seem to move even if i rev the engine. they seem to always be open. how would i know if they are working right?

when you start the car they should move as soon as it is started. have someone start your car while you watch the linkage.

But if there always open when the engine is running, then what is there perpose? I thought they were supposed to be closed untill you get to like 3000 rpms to boost torque. If they stay open all the time, then there is no low end torque boost.....so there not working corectly.....right??

Well, I don't know about the DOHC, but.....My old SOHC you could pull the intake mani. Take a phillips screw driver and unscrew the tiny screws that anchor the butterfly plates to the shaft that goes thru the "head end" of the manifold. then pull the plates off the shaft. If your really hard core, you could even pull the shaft out and eliminate the all the vacum stuff. off course you would need to plug the holes for the shaft that are open now....JB weld, aluminum welding, rubber pluggs ect. But that is really anal and is proly over kill.:thinker

Bendy...quick question you removed your coolant overflow tank. cool. You should remove your washer fluid tank like i did...anyway does this have any adverse affects.

I don't see how it would hurt anything. might be kinda anoying though if you get hit with a mud puddle. Why are you removing it? Making room for ram air or somthing?
