Swirl Control Valve (SCV)?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I was just wondering if the SCV would cause my car to sound like a honda with VTEC? It changes sound at like 3500-4000rpm. Is the SCV the cause or no? I did search and nothing said anything about the sound..and it only happens on my '93. Never happened on my '91 as far as i can remember.

I don't think so. I removed my valves and it still changes in sound drastically at the same rpm as yours. nice and deep before then but at 3500-4000rpm is gets real raspy.
