You can install a PAC SWI-JACK with no cutting, splicing, or piggybacking of the factory wires on the car side of the radio harness plug. All you nee to do is buy two of the radio harness adapters of your choice(Scoche, Metra...). The harnesses don't have output wires in possitions 6, 15, and 16 using the Coupe as an example and that is why the directions say to splice in on the car side and attach the resistors. That is where the second harness comes in. I just removed three wires, any three other than the constant power, and plugged them into the harness I was using in possitions 6, 15, and 16 and proceeded from there. Now the aftremarket harness is one piece and comes out togehter. Wiring it as the SWI instructions show the harness is wired in on the car side of the plug and is not as easy to remove. Now my factory radio will just plug back in when needed. I can go from the DNX5120, BT-200, and SWI-JACK setup to stock or back in less than five minutes.

Yeah, you can get a adapter for that, but the steering wheel control plug is pretty much useless once you go with aftermarket unit.

Can somebody explain this in more detail to a n00b? I want to install my swi-jack without splicing into wires for easy removal. My local shop wants $50 to install the module LOL. Please halp.

Makes sense, once you plugged the three wires into the harness you just soldered the resistors onto those? Have any pics by any chance. This was one of the reasons I didn't finish installing it on my brothers car. I didn't want to go into the factory harness...

I had the PAC SWI-JACK in my car. It worked for about 6 months and then just died on it's own. For the price of the device, the quality was just poor. Having to solder resistors to the wires in the kit is a headache in itself. The resistors can easily break. I have since replaced it with a newer device that automatically programs itself to the aftermarket stereo. See for yourself. It's 100x easier to install and there is no lag when you press the buttons on the steering wheel. I've had it since March and have 0 problems.
