I'm in the process of installing an Alpine IVA-W205 in my 2001 Qx4, and I was wondering who all has used the SWI-JACK. The instructions are a bit vague when it comes to soldering the resistors inline. Can anyone offer some clarification regarding what values go with which wire?

red wire from jack goes to red wire on harness(12 volt switched)(this is on the stereo), black wire from jack goes to ground on the stereo or chasis ground, also connect to the ground of the 3 wire harness coming out from your car and then to the chasis if not done already, now from the jack i had to use the white wire not sure about u, double check, white wire to ur 2 resistors(not sure what ur values r) and then approapiately matched to the other two wires on your 3 wire harness for vehicle hope this can povide some clearity for u

Yeah, I've got most of it-- all except the resistor part. My question was about what values need to be achieved for each signal wire from the stock harness (which all connect to the white wire on the JACK). From what I can tell via online research, the values don't really matter as long as they stay UNDER 2k ohms and are all different from one another. I guess I'll find out when I get back at it this weekend...

thats my understanding of it too, but u can call them to verify, mines were specific 47 on one n 150 on the other, the value matched the wire, so in ur case i would follow that of a 2002 pathfinder or qx4(not sure if its the same), but ideally i would call them first to make sure
