I spent a couple weeks on ebay trying to get the best deal on everything for my 91 Q.

Clarion ADX5655z Dual DIN CD/Cass H/U- $150 barely usedCalrion CDC1255z Cenet 12 disc CD Changer- $100 usedJBL 80.4 amp- $90 refurbishedJBL 300.1 monoblock amp- $90 barely usedCoustic 1244 DVC 12" subs- $100 newAlpine SPX 177a 6.5" component speakers- $150 newPioneer TS6990 6 X 9" 5 way speakers- $60 new4 ga dual amp kit w/ 1 Farad Capacitor- $55 new

Total is $795. If I went to my local stereo shop, even the one with the lowest prices, it would have cost me well over $2000 installed. Everything works perfect and sounds awesome. With 1.5 cu ft. per sub, the bass is silly. The JBL 300.1 actually pushes 378 watts RMS at 2 ohms. WHERE IS THAT DANG GAIN CONTROL?! Love those JBL amps. The Alpine components are pretty darn impressive as well. The deals are there on ebay.

Sounds like it sounds nice.

It looks like you replaced every component, are you using the original speaker wires for the doors?

Any pics of the new HU in it's new home?

Dr.Q....I want pics also. I am going to switch out all my speakers using an aftermarket amp and aftermarket speakers...but I was thinking on staying with an OEM type headunit. I would like to see pics as well.

watch out for that refurb JBL amp...my friends refurb JBL just recently started blowing fuses and then blew itself out of operation in a wisp of smoke.
