Hey are there any sway bars out yet for the coupes? Or strut bars or any of the aftermarket to make the car's handling better (not a drop)

None so far. I will find out if Tanabe is going to make one or not by early March.

Okay.. let's see if I can keep this simple, while at the same time explaining the differences:

1. Sway Bar - (Anti-Sway Bar, Anti-Roll Bar, Stabilizer Bar, same thing) Reduces body roll (keeps the car flat during turns). Yes, your Altima's have them, aftermarket bars will be larger and stronger, reducing body roll, and improving the cornering ability. (I like howstuffworks.com, I've copied their text below for more detail.) There is a front sway bar and a rear sway bar.

2. Strut Tower Brace - (strut bar, strut brace, STB, etc.) - This is a brace that connects each front or rear shock towers via a sturdy bar. This reduces flex of the body during cornering, improving the stability of the car, by connecting the shock towers. A good representative image is one from the G35:

Rear strut tower braces can get a bit tricker, since they install in the trunk area, and small holes need to be placed in the fabric panels, like you'll see in these installation instructions: http://www.stillen.com/product...t.pdf

Undercarriage Brace - (sub-frame connectors, frame connectors, etc.) - These are specialized pieces that connect to various places underneath the vehicle, stiffening the chassis in locations that may contain flex under cornering load. We haven't done enough testing with the Altima in a track environment to determine what might be best, and if these are necessary.

More from howstuffworks.com on sway bars http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question432.htm

I hope this is helpful. I'm far from an engineer, but one of the things we'll begin doing soon is some technical write-ups on all types of products, to better explain the products we're developing, what goes into the R&D and fabrication, and why they are important.

Absolutely.. the Coupe rear bar R&D is finished, working it's way into production, front bar is also being developed. I quoted "weeks" away in another thread, that's a good estimate for availability.

I haven't heard the specs on the bars yet, but for most applications we're able to also incorporate some adjustability into the sway bars, in utilizing several holes at the end in which to bolt the sway bars up.

Depending on which holes you use, you can actually adjust the bars stiffness, to maximize control over the ride. This allows you to change the ride whenever you want, simply by throwing the car up on jacks, unbolting the bar, changing the bolt locations, and bolting it back up.

Most bars have 3-5 points of adjustability. You might ask why, the reason is stiffening up the sway bar can slightly effect the ride of the vehicle, mainly in uneven surfaces (say pot holes or uneven roads), in that the car wants to remain as flat as possible, so it can add some stiffness. But once you hit your first corner, and feel the car stay flat and feel.. well graceful if you will, you'll be hooked.

For example, these are the G37 sway bars:

More adjustability was possible with the Mustang GT500 bars:

to be honest I haven't physically looked at the differences between the sedan and the coupe, so I cannot say for sure, but I'm sure we'll develop both if they are in fact different.

I know we have been lagging in support of the sedan for some items, we have full disposal on both a 3.5 and 2.5 coupe, so that's been the front runner on product development, but we're working on getting a sedan in house, so we can play catch-up on sedan products.

We're into the Altima for the long haul, STB's have totally been on the plan. Nissan/Infiniti has been active lately, with a ton of new changes on the Altima, 350Z/370Z, G35/G37, GT-R, etc etc. We're trying to get to it all.

I don't have a timeframe on the STB, but it is part of the new product meetings, and is slated for R&D time..

Kyle mentioned the 2.5L Turbo that's in the works, we've also looked extensively at the 3.5L for appropriate forced induction options, things are definitely in full swing at the STILLEN compound..

We're starting a blog soon, should help with the updates on product information, and ongoing info on things we're working on, so you guys are kept in the loop..

I'll deny anything if pinned.. but our diving into the ECU in regards to forced induction may just result in a solution you're looking for..

Woohoo! BOOOOOOOOOSSSST

I cant wait for the F/R sway bars to come out. It'll definitely help in auotcrossing. I do agree that the FSB is a pain in the azz to change though.

Thats perfect man, im a definate buyer for most mods that yall will come out with, and im real anxious so I appreciate it. Im definately looking forward to a grille like the one from the fascia if produced. Along with the Stillen bumper, thats how i plan on going. Not to change the subject from the strut bars though.

No problem.. Feel free to email us with any ideas you have.. can't promise we'll do all of them, but if we don't know you guys are looking for them, we can't look at R&D'ing what you want.

Both myself and Kyle are in all of the new product meetings with the execs and R&D, and we always bring up every idea, and discuss them at length.
