from some of the old posts i have read through, alot of people get the hicas rear bar thats 21mm or the K's not sure on the mm

tanabe sustec has them at 22mm and cusco at 18mm

is there any other options i can go for? recommendations for bushings or links as well? i would want something rock soild like my prova end links on my GC8

i dont wanna have to "mod" it, so something that will bolt right up, designed for the car....need to be precise with suspension

any adive ideas or sites to buy from? not alot of places have sway bar sales....kinda suprising since its one of the best, cheapest and noticable upgrades(ex: GC8 18mm FHI rear with Prova endlinks such a solid feel in cornering and very responsive, keeps the rear like its on rails, sway was only 70 bucks, spent a pretty buck on the prova's tho )

Check out SPLparts.com. They have decent pricing and quick shipping. They sell Whiteline and Largus swaybars. They also sell metal bearing stabilizer endlinks too.

If you are lucky (like me) you can find a R32 GT-R rear sway bar. 25.4mm (that may not be exact, but its around 25). Combined with the front Tanabe my car doesn't move.

Sorry, just saw this.

No there is no mods neccessary to put in the R32 rear sway on a S13. It is tough to get it over a 3" exhaust though (had to unbolt the exhaust and pull it down).

I honestly can't vouch for the metal bearing endlinks but I have the Energy Suspension Complete Poly car kit on my S14 and they are awesome and work great on your stock sway bars! I am sure they will do wonders on a 13! The hardest ones to do were the tension rods but I plan on going to hard ones later on and bigger sways but the poly ones are great if you just want to slightly upgrade your stock ones or that your stock ones are blown like mine were! I got the complete car kit for around $75 from suspension.com

i thougth about the bushing kit but to take them off and then press them out....plus some of these bars on my car doesn't looks so well.....so mine as well switch em out....

i dont mind stiffer bushing buts i do have a few metal ones on my subaru and its great like the solid prova end links fo rthe rear sway about twice a year i get under and clean em and spray it down with some lithium grease.....no probs so far and its been about 4 years since i had it installed.....

i am getting a few bushing replacements for some of the pieces i do not need its that important to swap out.....but knowing me i ll end up changing every bit of suspension piece on the car.....

plus the 240 is going to be a summer car, so i want it to be a stiffer ride then my daily....

The only bushings you have to push out are the tension rods and that is pretty easy to do. The poly bushings don't make your car ride any rougher than stock it just makes your car "roll" less in the turns. If you can afford the solid end links then go for it. They are by far the best. I don't use my car for much more than a daily driver and maybe a track day or 240 meet every once on a while. I just didn't want to spend too much money since I was going to upgrade later anyway.

NoDrifto you are lucky to have a s13 and a GC8. I just sold my White GC8 about six months ago because I couldnt afford both my s14 and the subaru. That car is tons of fun I sure do miss it.if I were you I would get the Energy Suspension bushing for the Suspension arms that you do not replace with pillowball mountsBTW good luck finding a rear sway bar Ive been looking for a used one for a while now.

ah man you gave up yours?? i could never part with it unless i found one exactly the same(01 white sedan) and a 5speed(current gc is an auto but i like it....) its gonna be the family car one day.....hahaah

i got the sti lat links trailing arms aluminum control arms mounts 18mm H|FHI sway in the rear the prova end links sti cf strut tower(had to get i got a great deal for them for 150 bucks each from mike shields waaaay back), kyb agx on tarmac RA springs(stock height), wrx brakes up front and rear legacy GT brakes both powder coaterd deep read....rolling on RCII with faulkens wrapped around em...but got stock wrx wheels around em for now. but thats about it i tougth about doign the Group N bushing kits but man i am lazy, and don t feel like or have the time to take the whole rear out and do all the bushings....the ride is solid enough and yet still comfy

heres a pic of my BABY

for the tension rods i hav my mind set on the teins....the car is gonna be a dry season car and never see snow again......so i do tend to switch out as many parts i think i really need.....i do wana keep it kinda stock looking simple exhaust nothing angled or too noticable and super quiet....but definitely want to build upt he suspension, i want it to feel stiffer then the gc8, prolly never out handle it =P hehehe but i do wanna autoX them back to back and compare

Yeah man I had to give it up. You have an automatic white sedan? Thats funny cause thats the same thing I had. you should try the 20mm rear bar it worked alot better for me than the 18mm one (on the subaru). I had the Perrin ball bearing endlinks with it and it made a hell of a difference, just sometimes they would bind when going up my driveway. Why did you put WRX wheels on it, I love the way the stock Rims look on the '01

i was always afraid the 20 or 22 maybe too big and the end will swing out more than i wanted to....but i could get used to it....

the accident ate two fo the rims thens omeone stolel the rims in my back yard in the winter =[ i mis the 6 stars so i had an extra set of the wrx rins were gonna be my winter set...then pick up the RCIIs in gold 17" summer tires of course, been cheap and didn t get new tires fore them sicne i ate them up at the autoxs

i see alot of the 17 in jspec split spoke i may want a set of those for daily or auto X set

yeah i got this car for 17K new and it was my first car i chose for myself and not stuck with limited choices.....hate to say this buti knew nothign abotu cars til i got the subie......i actually learned a whole lot with that car it forced me too.....one reason i got auto was it was in cherry hill the 5 speed was a 6 months wait for the oen i wanted plus was worried i would be bad at stick since last tiem i drove stick was in high school and it was an 85 honda accord so i was kind scared too....serious newb then but its almost 6 years now....still a noob with the 240...=) but i am always learning....also hate to say this as well...i only bought the car because when i went to japan i saw this mitsu evo 6.5 TM edition and tried to fidn it here.....yeah i was that newb and ended up at subaru and bought the rs.......hahahahaha man i am so in love with subaru over evo, but would liek to have a 6 or 5 one day or build one up with a mirage body and use only Subaru parts a nd call it an EVOL STI hahahahahahahha

Talk to AxelGrungy (Ben), he has the Suspension Techniques units from Phase2Motortrend. He likes them a lot. I have Susp Tech springs and they're top-knotch, so i assume their sways are just as great. Plus Phase2 has front and rear for $255 or something like that.

yeah i know....i think best picce i seen that 3rd piece was 60 bucks new and the bar bet price is 130 ish? new of course not a secodn hand dealy....only do that if is ee it for myself or its second hand japanese oem part....otherwise i always get new.........cusco is costly but hey, cars will always be a horrible investment so what the hell you only live once so mine as well do it and look good as they pull mu mangled body from my twisted chassis and they can say, "Hey this guy had Cusco in his car, thats cool" hahaahah and then takes it as my body goes to the morgue

*wink*
