I was under the impression that base model, non hicas s13 coupes had no rear sway bars, but looked underneath today, and its got one. Any explanations? just curious. Its puny looking skinny thing, and i want to replace it and the front bar. I dont have any suspension mods yet besides f/r strut bars, and I want to go with sway bars next. I want the stiffest bars possible (i hate body roll), But i dont want to fork over 300 bucks a bar. Any suggestions with links? and do all of the bars come with endlinks and new bushings, the endlinks on my car look like i could cut em with wire clippers(exaggerating but you get the idea).

thanks to all!

all 240's come with sway bars. stiffer sway bars take away from the suspention's ability to be independant if you understand what im saying.

whiteline and suspention techniques both make good bars, as do some other companies.

SPL has some excelent solid adjustable endlinks.

But by reducing the independence, body roll is greatly lessened, so cornering ability is improved, but ride comfort is decreased. So stiffer bars will only help handling . Right or wrong?

yea, you either get handling or comfort... unless you want to spend a lot more money, hehe.

Yea, there is lil body roll. I just did s.t. sway bars + kts coilovers + some other goodies upgraded from kyb agx + sportlines -> it's sweet. stiff, but nice.

They are very comfy at 70+ mph

If I were you, I'd spend some money on a good shock/spring setup. Either being complete coilovers, or buying some springs and good shocks. Personally, I don't like the way swaybars limit the supension travel. They also don't have an effect till the suspension is compressed to a certain amount on most cars. I'd eliminate body roll by increasing the spring rates, that will have a more drastic effect on the handling of the car, then a swaybar. Be sure to match your springs with good shocks. I prefer to just buy a coilover that has a shock and spring that are designed for each other.

sounds like a plan. Buying one component at a time would be the best thing to do. thanks for the suggestion. Sometimes I get kind of carried away with ordering

just buy the suspension technique

they are about 250$ for both front and rear, bushing, bracket... did I mention the bushings are polyurathane?

.... yeah! I like them.

yeah ST is the way to go unless you wanna splurge on whiteline (better links)

anyway you need to stack 3 washers (not 2 i dont care what the instructions say) above the mounting bracket for the front bar and at least 2 under the link nuts in the rear bar to make the bushings fit.
