I am using the top-hat mounts, bought them by calling the number on their website. My rb20det's oil pan keeps rubbing the sway bar. So far it has only rubbed off a little paint. I thought everthing was supposed to clear when using the mounts? Is there any sway bar either aftermarket or from some other car that will work? I have a spare z32 sway bar, but it doesn't look like it will work.

If all else fails I can get one custom made I guess.

Call tophat, complain. Is it rubbing a little under normal driving or spirited driving, becuz if it's rubbing under normal driving... under spirited driving it may dent or could even crack the pan= no good.

Rubbing under normal driving. I need more parts installed before spirited drivng may commence. Stock turbo elbow didnt clear either.

Engine is right up against one of the AC lines across the firewall though, so I don't think it can go back any further even if I got different mounts.

unbolt the sway bar and make the holes for the sway bar mount bigger and rebolt the swaybar on. you should be good to go then. It dosnt sound like it is rubing too bad.

With my custom mounts we had the same problem so ...we yanked out the AC line. I plan on putting the AC back in since I live in florida, but when I do I'll run a line somewhere else.

And if the mounts dont do what they are suppose to do SEND EM' BACK.

I was also thinking of putting some type of spacer between the front sway bar brackets and the car body. The pan front is angled and this would give me more clearence as well.

I put a 1/2 spacers under the sway bar mounts worked good, i still have only about 1/2 inch between the oil pan and the sway bar but worked good.

and yet another testimate to why one should use the r32 xmember when doing a rb20 swap.on my car the swaybar clears perfectly, and on my buddy neils car (bronze mfp) there is more than enough swaybar clearance.

That is exactly what I plan on doing.
