My front right wheel makes a rattling noise sometimes. Sounds like a rock in a soup can. The dealer said that the sway bar links were loose and noisy.

Could this be an easy and cheap fix? What parts would I need exactly? All I would be interested in is stopping the rattle sound

BTW, 2000 I30t with 83k

Thanks

All you should need to replace them is to go to your local parts store, i.e Autozone, and tell them you need sway bar links for your specific vehicle and they should contain everything you need. If you want good parts and are willing to spend a little extra money, I'd suggest finding some "Moog" brand name. They're good parts and last for a long time. If you don't have the extra cash, just use the off brand that the store carries as the name differs between retailers.

I just authorized replacement of a set of stabilizer links on an 01 Maxima (I work for a warranty claims company). The links priced out at about $40 each and the labor was 1 hour for r&r. Now if it's the same as sway bar bushings, they are $10 at Autozone...

Sway bar LINKS and sway bar BUSHINGS are two different things.

That's why I thought I would CMA and give both $$ values for the considered parts...

Does anyone know where I can find more information about working on this swaybar. The only info I saw was page 12 from section SU of the Factory service manual. However, the pictures and info from the FSM isn't really helping me.

The dealership quoted me something like $400 to do this work, so I am guessing I can fix this myself much cheaper. Any help would be appreciated.
