sway bar disassembly question

I have discovered the source of my suspension noise. The passenger side sway bushing is torn off. The manual seems to indicate that I need to remove the tension rod with the sway bar (FA-13). This doesn't seem right to me. Can I remove only the stabilizer bar?

you shoudl be able to just remove the sway bar.. when i installed my ST bars i just uninstalled the old one and put this one in
