Swapping to a land rover throttle body, you suppose I can wire in the LR TPS?

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

Guys, I searched and did not find anything definitive.

I know that the idle voltage needs to be set so the car knows when its actually at idle.

Does the TPS give any other information to the ECU besides WOT? I am not sure if the resistance curve is the same so it may change that.

I am planning on adapting the nissan TPS but using the rover one would be 100x easier.

Thanks - Evan

the load value in the PFC is calculated using the TPS voltage, so it might affect the way your Y-axis travels if voltage isn't right. you'd probably also want it 4.5V WOT, .5 V closed. most likely its just a linear relationship as well. i'd say try to see what kind of range you have right now by looking at the commander (wot and closed), then wire up the LR one and compare.

theres also a throttle switch in the 26 TPS. not sure if 25 TPS has one. basically it is continuous when the voltage is below a certain point (on mine it's when it's below like .43v, so i set my throttle to be closed at around .43v so that switch gets continuity). might want to check that out as well. however, i've noticed that it doesn't affect the idle when the switch is on or off.

Okay it uses TPS to calculate load values. Thats what I wanted to know.

Thanks dude - Evan

IMO there is not much reason to go bigger then the stock TB. I really don't want to get into it too far but from my reading thats my opinion.

LR throttle body is not for the faint of heart, mine is mounted on a custom intake manifold. Only reason I am using it is that it happens to have the same bolt pattern as the benz TB that my buddy was using on it.

HP? TQ?

No idea, I did this because I had to. The hole was too large to install the stock rb throttle body.

Evan

BTW, its not quite as large as the Q throttle body.
