Tonight I started my swap and have run into a few snags and am, frankly, a little intimidated.
I have a 1997 which is OBDII and I'm using an S13 transmission/Wiring harness and a 95 ECU which are both OBDI. Well the connections on the auto are completely different (obviously) and so I'm going to use the Wiring harness that came with the S13 transmission....question is: Are the other connections on the harness (something like 20 connections) going to connect correctly to the non transmission components or are those connectors different?
Also looks like I'm going to need a 3 prong style O2 sensor and going to have to swap some pins on the ECU harness for the 95 ECU....will this allow me to retain the same tuning abilities with aftermarket piggy backs like map-ecu or am I screwed on that?
Has anyone performed a similar swap and do you have any tips or suggestions?
Also in the middle of the AUTO on the passenger side there is a 4 wire sensor with a white circular plastic piece around it with 2 prongs on it....I canNOT figure out for the life of me how to get that plug out. I've twisted, tugged, pryed and cannot get it out. How does this come out?
