Wondering if this is possible? I got a KA24e from a Nissan Pickup, and I have a blown ka24e in my '89 240.

The main difference is the intake manifold which I switched over. Both are from a manual, so the flywheels are the same. My 5sp transmission from my '89 bolts right up, except for 2 bolts.

The main issue I am having is the oil pan, with the sump/bulge on the front on my '89 motor, and the sump on the back with the truck ka24e. So when I'm dropping the new motor in, it sits on the axle, higher than it should be, not allowing me to bolt in both motor mounts.

I can't swap the '89 oil pan with the new motor as it doesn't fit.

Any ideas?

Is there anything else I need/watch out for?

Thanks.

sometimes there's little diferences between the blocks even if both are ka'sdepends on the aplication for the original car on which was installed in first place. probbably theres some diference. my advice is take a look carefully and see the diference and what do you have to mofidy or swap from one engine to the other...

the block from a frontier problably is made in mexico instead of japan, so you are going to have a mexican 240...

I tried, the bolts don't like up, and it doesn't fit. I'm thinking I might need a custom pan or something now, not sure which way to go with it.

I have two sohc's that are forsale, but shipping would be a little expensive from ohio...

One thing to try is maybe search on ka-t.org, theres alot of ka info there and a couple truck guys have swapped in 240sx engines I believe.

It'll probably be cheaper and a smarter choice to pick up a KA24DE or E for the 240sx. Getting custom fitment from a shop and what not will probably cost you 2x 3x the amount to just pick up a KA and get it fit yourself.

Good luck with that.
