Hello to all. I am new to the Nissan world. No I am not a 16 year old ricer coming from the Honda camp. I recently wrecked my GSR sedan and am in the market for a new car. I have dabbled with a few old dimes before and they really took me in. I have long been a fan of the SR20 and its "right out of the box" power. Plus the potential is enormous. Now that I have expressed my validity, I would like to go on to my quetions. I am a poor college student living on my own. Parents are basically non-existent financially at this point. I have close to $7500 to play with. I have mapped out basically what I want to do. A 91 coupe because of the rigidity issues. I would like to swap in an S13 blacktop. Then add the clutch, FMIC, etc, etc. The only thing holding me back right now is the worry that something will go wrong down the road, say the alternator goes by the wayside. Where do I get a new one and how much is it going to cost me? Basically, is there some list detailing what USDM parts will swap over? Also, has anyone done the swap and retained your a/c? Is it just dependant on if it was working on your SX BEFORE the swap?

ka alt can be made to fit. or buy another from a good source on these forums. almost everything insdie the motor is able to be sourced by a 91 sentra ser. water pump will also work, but you have to pull the pulley out on the bearing slightly. they make tools for this. you can always buy another motor set for like $1200. thats the most you will have to pay for a part on a sr20det. its a lot, but that is the MOST. shaun
