This being said, you'd have to do research on the different CAI and SR brands. Different manufacturer's have different designs, some more efficient than others. Basically, you'd want to look for an intake that gets the coldest possible air with the least restriction. It's hard to say that CAI is better than SR and vice versa because they have their pros and cons.
Living in San Diegol, I decided to go with CAI. It's warm for most of the year, so heat soak is likely if i got a SR. We get 10-12 inches of rain annually--this means that I don't have to worry about sucking up water through my cone which is located near the front wheel well. For the months that it pours and floods, I switch to stock.
