5speed swap is done!

but i ran into another problem...

the shifter is hard to go into gear

if its in any gear and my foot in pressing on the clutch the wheel still spings...

its seems like the clutch is not doing its job..

you guys think its the slave cylinder??

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Im almost done with my 5speed swap...

i bought a new NISMO transmission mount for KA24DE/SR20DET

i took off the trans cross member off my SR20

the transmission i got is a KA24E single cam

when i put in the trans mount and cross member the stud thats on the trans mount doesnt seem like its matching the hole on the cross member.

my question is, is there a difference between a twin cam and single cam trans mount or is there a difference between a twin cam and single cam cross member?

or maybe I have to make the hole bigger on the cross memeber to fit the 2 bolts?

I did some research and all of them should be the same. I hope you are not using the cross member from auto transmission since only 2 bolts will hold it. If you are using manual cross member, I don't know why the holes are smaller. Just make them bigger and it should be okay. Never heard of this problem though.

the cross memeber is from my 5speed Sr20 trans

on the diagram the 11320E, the hole on the crossmember is about half an inch off...

Something is not right. You are talking about these two holes, right? That's where bolts on the transmission mount go. I also have a Nismo transmission mount with KA manual cross member. Nismo transmission mount should work for both KA/SR. Please answer these.

- Part # on transmission mount- Is your cross member from sr20det or sr20(N/A)?- What's the distance between two bolts on the transmission mount?- What's the distance between two holes on the cross member?

I'll check my car tonight.

yes im talking about those bolts.

the car is currently at my friends house doing the swap so ill post the answeres to the questions tonight.

it seems like the transmission is too short so the cross member holes are half an inch off to the left ( toward the rear)

all i can answer is the cross member is off my 1989 S13 hatch with SR20DET black top.

is there a difference between hatch and vert?

There are different MT transmission mounts. Believe there are 3 different ones. Have to find one that works with your chassis and they are specific to model or anything, not sure how to tell how to match them up without having one.

Part number for Nismo 89-98 KA transmission mount is 11320-RS541. These pics are from one of the nico members, positron and he bought it for his SR transmission.

No difference at all. My manual transmission is from 95 and a cross member is from 93 hatch.

Come on. You gotta tell us how you resolved cross member issue.

First, you need to remove the dampener box if you have and bleed the system real good. Second, see if the slave cylinder pushes the fork if you press the pedal. If so, you should adjust this bracket 30631. Move it closer to you, not to firewall. That way, the slave cylinder will push the fork as far as it can.

The clutch pedal could also stand to be adjusted. More than likely it's either a bleed issue or the pedal is out of adjustment

lol I mickey mouse the trans mount. im pretty sure theres a difference between a KA24DE and KA24E trans mount. I drilled two holes on the trans mount that mounts to the transmission to adjust forward and backward. so now it fits perfect.

I bleed the clutch about 7 to 10 times theres no air.

I tried to adjust the clutch peddle...same thing.

im gonna replace a new slave cylinder to see itll work but if not im gonna adjust PART # 30631.

my clutch peddle is pretty soft but Im using a cheap stage 3 6puck, is that the reason why its soft?
