Swapping j30 guts...

Doing a j30 guts swap into a s13 diff and had a question for the many that have done it.

Most how to's i have been reading say the only thing different between the two diff's is the vlsd addition.

Does this mean the main shaft gears are the same? One diff has yellow marker saying 32 and the other 34 but look the same and i know how the slightest difference can destroy a diff.
