My 04 maxima does not have tyhe NAv system. There is one for sale on ebay and it is complete. Does anybody know if this is a direct swap and is taking the console and dash apart a real pain in the butt??Thank you

Swapping nav into a non-nav Maxima is not worth it from what I understand. There is a lot more to the wiring than just popping in the units and connecting them up (The windshield for a NAV-equipped Maxima is even different). You are far better off getting an aftermarket nav system.

sounded too good to be true. Thanks for the advice. I was hoping not to cluster up the clean lines of the dash. I use a laptop and msn gps system right now but the lack of a better placed 12V source has me a little frustrated. I dont like having the little door open by the passengers foot or the armrest door open.

You could keep the dash clean by using a unit with a retracting screen.

You could also custom mount double-DIN touchscreen GPS unit where the stock info screen is if you're feeling really ambitious.

DetroitM, yes, you'd end up with different HVACs. See the following link:

I'm working on it, but I'm trying to get wiring diagrams --and-- photos.

There is a little difference between NAV and noNAV plugins behind the units.
