so I find myself in somewhat of a bind, my buddy had purchased a rb26 motor set, im debating on buying 1 of the t28s from him, but I was wondering if you can swap the stock sr t25 exhaust housing with the s14 t28s? due to the reason of me being cheap and lazy and not wanting to buy a different manifold because the t28 housing has studs and would either require drilling out the old t25 studs from the exhaust manifold, or just buying a new manifold all together...so please help me out with any info u can give me.

Thanks

The studs in the stock exhaust manifold are easily removed. No drilling necessary.

I believe the oil lines must modded slightly and the inlet elbow must be reclocked. The turbo outlet elbow will sit at an angle as well.

I realize I will need different lines, I dont mind that, im just worried about the fitment of the turbo...so has anybody ever seen that swap before?

The S14 Turbo is a very common swap. It's the RB26 T28 I think that causes problems.

I'm thinking it's not the ability to bolt on, just the turbo size itself. I don't think it is as big as the s14 or S15 T28.

It has the same flange, it would fit on the mani w/ no problems. It's not worth it though if you are looking for a big increase in hp. An s14 or s15 turbo will make more peak hp, but the skyline turbo will spool faster (it's also more fragile and won't hold up well to increased psi).

Yeah, the ceramic compressor wheel has a tendency to explode (literally) once you start reaching the 1 bar boost level.

(the turbine wheel is ceramic, not the compressor wheel, FYI)

Looking at the original posted question... I am pretty sure that the exhaust housing on a T28 turbo is the same as a T25 (if they have the same A/R's). A T28 (to me at least) is a T3 compressor wheel in a T04B compressor housing with a T25 exhaust housing. So you may not gain anything by just trading exhaust side housings from a T28 to a T25, unless the A/R are different which may result in different spool-up characteristics.

Or if you are just talking about swapping complete turbos, then ignore my post.
