how difficult would it be to swap out an open differential with a Differential with a Kaaz already in it before and after events? because if heard that the Kaaz' break after 2-3 years i was thinking i could use it for longer by trading it out like i just said

it's too much work to do that. And 2 -3 years is a pretty long time anyway.

All you're doing is taking out 4 bolts for the diff cover, 12 axle bolts, and 4 driveshaft bolts, but taking that thing out and putting it back in is horrible just because it's so heavy and you gotta manuevor it around

and after driving with the lsd why would you wanna go back to an open?

Yeah.

Not worth it at all unless you have a lift and air tools.

Actually even then its not worth it.

Wow.... Someones a baby.

It takes me 30/45 minutes to swap pumpkins. No lift, No air tools. Why you would ever want an open diff though.....

Swapping out pumpkins is simple. Jack up your car loosen up the driveshaft, axles, and rear mounting bolts then lower down and do the same to reinstall the other pumpkin. No more than 30 minutes once you get used to it, but I'm sure after a while, you'll just rather drive around with the lsd installed.

its an easy procedure sure, but i would not have the motivation to do the extra work to end up with an open diff

For those of you who say takeing it out is simple and can be done in 30 min, have you really ever done it? I agree its not complicated, but I wouldnt say easy. removeing the bolts are easy, But manuvering that crazy heavy SOB around under the car with little room isn't fun. You need to d!ck around to get the axels to pop out. Then you need to d!ck around droping it while getting around your exhaust, sway bar, and subframe. It is a pain in the a**. I have pulled my diff over 4 times, and I have also done it to 4 friends, so I have done it alot. It is always a pain in the a**, and it takes some time.

truthfully its not that hard to do with the right tools, and a nice pry bar helps out alot too with the axles. and im talking on the ground, hand tools, no air tools or lifts. i can say it honestly takes about 45 minute to an hour and im not saying i would swap my open for an lsd everytime i go to the track. thats just a waste of time.

I was thinking about doing this, except I have a welded. I'm lazzy so I don't.

Hope that helps.
