You can still pay off an inspector with a swapped OBD 2 car right? Just wondering for future reference

depends if they require your obd2 port to get tested in your state if its above a 1996 car. Thats gonna be hard to do.

sr's dont have an OBD-II port since OBD it doesnt exist in japan. They have a consult port but thats not what counts here.

The OBDII car will still have the diagnostic port intact, it just won't read anything.

In Utah the OBDII for the 96+ 240s is not readable for the computers for some reason. So, every time i get the car inspected, they get no signal from the OBDII Port. They pass the car every time, so once I get the notch back in there, I am willing to bet that I won't have a problem. Not only that, but once they pop the hood, I don't think that I'll have a problem either, as they are not common cars here, and these jackoffs have no idea (probably) what is inside.

so what ur saying is that if i go to get the emissions done on a swapped OBD 2, they will plug into the port under the steering wheel and nothing will show up, so they pass it?

No, they will fail you in GA. There is no second chance to run it on the dyno either. If you try and fight it they will send you to the inspector who will impound you car for having an illegal motor swap in it. I wouldn't try paying them off either as the ecu is supposed to contain the vin# and mileage on all vehicles. So if they hook up another car it will show up that the vin on the ecu is different than the vin on the dash and you will probably end up going to jail. Remember, emissions laws are federal, not state.

Best thing to do is get a 95 if you like the s14 body style and want to fix it up. its seriously not worth the hassle in some states to do otherwise. Even the OBD-II models in 95 are smoged as OBD-I becuase of the model year so your cool. however you are still going to have to go through some loop holes to get any highly modified 240sx smogged legally.
