Was wondering if anyone had any info on swaping a new engine int he s13, I am just replacing the KA24de engine, dont have enought $$$ to buy the sr20Det, Or I would have bought that, i mean who wouldnt.

I am only 17 and still considered new to the whole make up of engines, I know how they run and stuff I have learned here and there but changing an engine will be a tuff task. I just need some instructions to read over to make sure I do it right. $750 bucks for labor for putting in an engine is stupid. I would have jsut bought the Sr20. Thanks for any help.

Dude you dont need an SR to be fast. God so sick of people thinking that. Second of all its the opposite of takin it out. Id suggest removin the transmission at the same time because its alot easier. Disconnect the wiring harness, disconnect the exhaust after the manifold, removed powersteer/ac/radiator/etc all the lines connecting the engine to the car, disconnect motor mounts, remove drive shaft from transmission an then good luck! haha you could in reality have it done in a day if everything goes smoothly.

Well I know I dont need the sr20 to be fast, just put forged pistons, rings, valves, stems, all that good stuff in the KA24DE, really all I need to be fast in my area is a pretty much blown ka24de. No offense to all the eclipse and acura people who think that their cars are fast stock. Unless you got the TSI models. I say instead of spending the same amount of money jsut buy the sr20 and it not take as much work to get the power.

im not bashin the KA, I know its a good engine, I can tell that due to the fact all the gaskets and all the rings and seals are pretty much warn and burning oil every two days and still kickin the crap out of integras and eclipses. I have just heard more bad stories about boosting a ka than good.

Man your diggin youself a grave more ya talk haha. Ive heard just as many horror stories with the SR. Theres a whole post about both engines. An wtf are you talkin bout TSI models those are only talons not eclipses an acuras. An I wouldnt talk to bad about those because your 240 isnt that fast stock either. DSM's are only fast when there modded turbos an ive seen plenty of acuras an hondas all motor pulling times in the 13's. So I wouldnt talk up your 240 just yet.

Stock 240sx = sssssslllllooooooowwwwwww (except in the hands of the very-capable)

Owning a 240sx is about having fun, not acting like you have a big dik to other car owners.

Any Nissan turbo motor is a great choice, good luck with upgrading your car, and learn some humility.

Have you gone in the Ka-T form here yet we dont have meny bad stores at all and i dont even read about the Sr as much and heard just as meny bad storys about it. but like other have/will say lets not turn this into anther KA vs Sr tread. ther both good motor its just wher you want to go with your own car.

The Ka is vary good motor for boosting its got a really storng block and crank as i said both motors have layed down over 400 to the wheels on stock blocks on boost.

And i am not trin to piss you off i just want you to know the ka can hold its own and not to talk bad about it

give the kid a break he isnt trying to bash the motors. he isn't that informed on the subject, or so it seems, and the only thing he is certain of is the sr is a good motor. so chill man.
