Swapping an auto twin cam into a 5 speed single cam car

Hello everyone.

I've had my s13 coupe for about a year now and I am going to be doing a twin cam swap due to a rod knock. The donor engine was rebuit 40k ago and has no problems at all. Only problem is it's an automatic. What do I have to buy/ do to make this swap work?

I have a full KA24de motorset-engine-transmission (auto) -harness-ecu

and of coures the sad little single slammer that in the car now.

Iv'e heard i can make it work with what I have.Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

I did search all I could find of relavance was the twin cam swap FAQ witch, whie informative and useful, fails to go into the specific detail I need in this perticular case.

I'm pretty sure that the ka24e transmission still bolts up to the ka24de block...actually, i think the blocks are the exact same, just different heads.you should be able to make it work with what you have

I've read here that the transmission's match perfectly between the SOHC and DOHC, but I have no experience with transplanting them.

The block, as I've heard is very nearly identical. But I believe there are a couple differences (not enough to stop someone from swaping the SOHC for the DOHC head or swapping trannies though).

thanks for the insight, I know the blocks are at least slightly different due to their distubutor locations. I asked arounf tho and it sounds like i shouldnt have much problem. thanks again.
