Hi, I'm fairly new to Nissans, been a Chevy guy my whole life. Trying to put this together for my daughter for her first car.
The crankshaft broke on the original motor, so I thought swapping a low miles Japanese motor may be the solution.
My main problem is that the firing order of the Japanese motor is different.
I thought about swapping the distributor from the original, but that seems like a recipe for disaster, since the crank and cams are designed for the other firing order.
Can I "flash" the computer, or just install the motor and all will be fine?
I'm kinda lost here and don't want to screw it up...
Thanks for any and all help!

Just follow the firing order with spark plug leads to the 'CORRECT" plug of the new engine.

So I'm over-thinking this?
You're saying simply adjust the wires at the distributer cap to the U. S. firing order and put the wires on the correct spark plugs on the japanese motor? Or vice-versa? Trying to figure out exactly what you mean...
That wont cause firing on open valves since internals are deigned for japanese firing order?
Maybe I'm just tired and not thinking clearly...lol
