Ok, starting from scratch, I bought a 89 240 that had a blown engine. It was built in Jan of 89 and came equipped with the sport package. Struts have been robbed by someone else but everything else is intact and almost perfect except for someone lightly side swiped the passenger side. Of course the engine is blown and its a five-speed but heck cant get much better for $150.

My racing 240 has almost 195k on the engine and frame, and I'm looking for an interim engine until we drop in a built up V8. So, I've been thinking about rebuilding and build up the 89 engine for the mean time to race and then put into a street car later when I find one. Does anyone know if there are anything that I would need to do for the swap besides change over the computer? According to the Nissan TB's the only physical part outside of the engine that was changed was the computer and addition of the air temp sensor for the newer motors. Just trying to figure things out before I start rebuilding something to find out it won't work. I'm hoping and assuming all of the wiring would be the same except for the addition of the air temp sensor.

EDIT: OR if someone knows an easy engine swap to a carb'd engine and transmission that would use the same size stock drive shaft that would REALLY be perfect. Just spent like 200 to have a custom single piece made from a 97 truck 2 piece that had the larger u-joints on it.

There wasn't a higher HP version, the 9:1 and 8.6:1 were both 140hp.
