I would like to take out the stock radio and replace with Nissan part 259154BA0A with satellite radio. Does anyone know what cables will need to be changed or where I can get the connector pin out information?

The connector pin out info should be available in the factory service manual.

I'm not sure if the harnesses for the 2 different radios are the same either. I'm sure you could get it to work though.

Please know that if your intention is to upgrade with the hope of getting navigation, you'll need more than just the head unit. I believe amongst other things, you'll need to replace the external antenna on the rear of the vehicle as well. On the plus side, it now appears that the satellite receiver is built into the head unit. On first gen Rogues, it's a separate component.

I have a 2015 Rogue SV with the standard SV non-navigation radio head. Is it possible to buy an oem navigation head and upgrade to that?

Do I need more than just the module?

No, it's not that simple. The NAV is just a display unit. There are several other parts, including a separate receiver for the sat signal. It would be cheaper and Far easier to get a standalone unit (which would be more accurate and have free updates).

This was discussed before. SEARCH currently down, so I'll merge it when it's working again.

Hi, I'm new here, first post. Just bought a 2016 Nissan Rogue SV with premium package. Prior to buying that, I was considering trims with no nav and was wondering the same thing (if I could upgrade the stock radio with no nav myself). I didn't get too far into researching, but if Rogue One is correct about you also needing a separate receiver for the upgrade, IMO it's not worth the hassle.

I did come across this however and looks pretty good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTcScYB1224. You probably get more functionality and versatility since it's android. Nissan Connect Apps are a joke and shouldn't even be listed as a feature. One thing I didn't like about that unit is the boot up time ... 30 seconds. Seems long but I guess you could get used to it.

For what it's worth, here's my 2¢. Even IF the factory head unit now contains the satellite receiver built in, AFAIK you'll still need the other components to make it work properly. Additionally the yearly map updates are not free, and although they can be obtained on sale for $99, why pay for the added expense (not to mention the negative reviews the NAV system gets in the forums)? Oh, and there's the sound quality issue as well.

I'd opt for a replacement unit from a company like Pioneer, JBL or Kenwood. Sure you could go with a Chinese unit, but what you save in price, you'll sacrifice in sound quality and functionality (slow boot times, etc.). On a related note, the manufacturer of the unit in the youtube clip also makes a unit that's compatible with the around view camera system.

If you still want to look into getting the OEM NAV unit, it's available on eBay, but I'd check with the service department at your local Nissan dealership to find out exactly what you'll need to make it work.

the navigation unit has different wiring connections then the standard unit the gps ant is the only other thing needed but the wiring has to be changed into different connectors. If you read the connections it is spreed across several different pages in the wiring diagrams I have not be able to located the 2014 connectors as this starts a new style. still trying when i get the time

We have an incredible SEARCH feature on this forum. Merged with existing thread. Please read the previous posts on this subject. You should also search for info on the poor functionality and lack of updates for the OEM GPS unit. The consensus is it sucks.

sorry about that.

So as i read this does this mean it wont work?

Meaning if i buy the ebay unit and buy an enternal antenna it wont work? Has anyone tried?

I have done this in other cars and has been plug and play but not sure if anyone with a 2016 has done it? The nav unit is only selling for $200!

There's one other thing to take into account (it slipped my mind earlier). I don't believe the unit you were looking at included the SD map card. Currently there's an outdated one on eBay for US $47.99. The most current map is on sale for US $99.

I'm selling OEM navigation upgrade kits for the Rogue, Altima and Titan on eBay. PMed you a link.
It's easy to install and works right away like it came with navigation from factory, except Nissan Connect smartphone app, but it's possible to get it to work as well.

Hello all,

Looking to upgrade my 2015 Rogue S Radio with Sirius XM to a Navigation Radio with Sirius XM... I found one on eBay, but will I need any additional parts since my car originally does not come equipped with Navi? And on the eBay listing, the seller mentioned they do not provide Radio Codes? Do I use the radio code that was given to me with my car and if not, where and how much do I have to pay to get one?

i have experience with Volkswagen with VW if you were installing a different OEM head-unit and you did not have the codes you had to contact the dealer the charge was around 50 dollars. i was told that you would need to get the firmware update as well to get it to work properly.

Hey there everyone! I have a 2016 Rogue SV with the factory Navigation and the 360 birds eye camera. I am wanting to replace the head unit with one from a 2018 so I can get the extra features and carplay etc.

I have looked everywhere and can not find this being done. I do know that the Harness is bigger in the 2018 and can not find that harness on the internet anywhere.

I am wondering if this is something that can be done and if anyone else on here has attempted to do this.

Thanks!
