Decent-looking SR-swapped vert on ebay.

Seller says "Only one of two in existence."

Should we break the bad news to him?

White one in FL (Secret Services) Bart's SRRed one in MD that was for sale hereMelted Monitor's 92Ebay guy (that makes 5).

If I know of 5, there have to be tenfold more.

Seeing that auction this morning made me do a little research... that is how I found this forum area. :) Add me to that short list... I was going to email him, but figured I would look like a dufus.

There is also an RB-convertible on eBay right now:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...69060

FWIW, there's an RB20DET swapped one in BST, that's at a steal as well. If it hasn't sold already.

The red one in MD was a heavy throttle car, I believe. Zadok has a black one that was put together by the same guy who did mine. I'm working with that guy to do a red vert and we're prepping to do a white vert in the near future :)

Anybody ever see another RB20det convertible??? I think I might be the only one? nah.. I am sure someone, somewhere has done it.

Anyhow.. it's mine. I still need to sell it.

Still available if anyone is interested. I too think $6500 is an excellent price... But I would take any offer over $5000 right now because I could use the money.

Did you make some kind of gauge/instrument cluster below and right of the steering column?

Kinda looks that way in your ebay pics.

Are you talking about the Christmas tree air freshener?

The convertibles have the switches for putting up the top and the windows in that area.

The only custom work inside is a switch to turn on the dual puller radiator fans. That is located under the dash by your right leg.

Hope that helps... not sure if I am seeing the same thing you are?

Still available!!!! Anybody interested. Will take $5000. Phase2motortrend.com has the water pump in stock for $129. ships in 5 days. Easy repair gets you a sweet car cheap!

Hmmm.... can I take a look at it? I am in Portland, but head up to Tacoma often. Maybe we can work something out.

Just out of curiosity, why are you trying to sell it with the broken fuel pump when the new pump is so cheap and available? Why don;t you just fix it?

Over 13,000 views of that auction, and not one bid.

Maybe should have started at a lower price so people get interested and start feeling competitive, etc....

Hey Melted Monitor...

You can certianly take a look at it if you feel like driving up to Seattle. I will get you in touch with the guy who has the car right now.

I had the engine professionally installed for me in Seattle. I flew out there from Wisconsin to drive it home. When I got there, we learned that the water pump is bad. If I had it here at home I could fix it myself. But, the labor to repair it get's costly. So, understand my situation...

I put a lot of cash into the car.. Then I spend $600 for my flight to Seattle and hotels and food and stuff... then another $350 to get home by last minute airfare when I found out I couldn't drive it home. Now I would be looking at paying them another $400 to replace the water pump for me, then i would have another $600+ to come out there and drive it home again. You see how quickly all the hundreds are adding up.. By the time I would have the car back home in Wisconsin, I would have over $2000 just in transit. So I decided it would be best (mostly to keep me out of trouble with my wife) to just sell the car and write off my losses as an expensive vacation to Seattle.

So, that's why I'm selling it.

I should have it sold in a week or two. A guy up there said his RB20 powered coupe was stolen, and he is working on a loan to buy it from me.

However.. I'll take the first offer at $5000 or higher. So if you are interested.. you will get a heck of a deal on that car.

If you have questions, feal free to call me (just keep in mind I'm 2 hours later than you). Thanks

I will let you know if I plan on heading up there soon... it is a few hours from me. If I am going up I'll definitely swing by and look at the car.

Do you recall how much has he dropped his price?

Amazing how a stock S13 HB just went for nearly $3,000 and he can't get any nibbles for an SR-swapped 'vert at $6,000??

You know, the SR-swapped coupes and HBs that I have seen go on eBay have not gotten very good prices either. I think that the assumption is that a backyard mechanic did the swap... and it is probably the case in 90% of the auctions! (Not knocking the backyard mechanic, I AM one!)
