swaping motor

hey i just wanna know how to take out the ka motor from the chassis do i need to lift the car up on the lift or i can do it while it sits on jack stands?? and what are the procedures?? this is my first time doing this and i wanna learn at the same time and not make any mistakes! thanks

jack it up use jackstands!remove front wheelsunplug the whole harness (every single plug)un bolt the drive shaft, transmission, and motorpull with cherry picker

and if you want something better than this use the search box in the right hand corner

When you unplug everything be sure to mark where it came from. I used Ty-wraps from work that have a small space to wite on. Others have used the plastic things you get from bread wrapers. You can use tape or whatever else you have available but mark everything.

If you dont know the name of something then put where it came from, such as: third connector to the left of the oil filter, or right side near injector #1.

That will save TONS of time when you go to put back in. Also you can take pictures of your tag and the connector before you unplug.

Spring for the Pizza and beverages to get a friend over to help. much easyier and safer.
