Hi

I have a 1984 4wd and my Z24 was working acceptable till the head gasket gave up. It was leaking oil from various parts so I decided to do the KA swap. I’m planning in doing full rebuild on the KA, rebuild transmission and transfer (since they were making noise), new drive shafts. I already pull out the Z24 and transmission and I have the KA waiting. For the ECM I'm planning in doing the megasquirt II (ordering kit in a couple of days).

My task list (for now):
1. Disassemble KA and order parts and rebuild
2. Do the oil pan (like noface post)
3. Rebuild transmission and transfer
4. Build the megasquirt II kit and install in truck

I'm also trying to find a megasquirt file, if someone has one it would be appreciated.
Suggestions are well more than welcome!

IDK about the MS file, I haven't been there yet. but I am sure someone on ka-t.org has one.

Also you could just run it off of any KA24e ecu in the meantime.

Are you going for turbo or just want to be able to tune it?

Oil pan? like increase volume and baffling?

I assume you are going with a D21 KA. so it should be pretty straight forward. I think one of the motor mounts are the same and the other is slightly off but not hard to figure out. I haven't read up on ka swaps into 720's that much, but you sound like you know what you are doing. Good luck.

After two months have all parts lined up and hoping that I could get the engine in the truck on the weekend:
MSII done
Transfer and Transmission done
Engine done (new pistons bearings gaskets etc..)

No turbo just want to be able to tune it

Oil pan: Since Ka it’s from a D21 rear wheel drive need the AWD oil pan.

Found the MS file going to use it as a base file and go from there.

Learned a lot trough the process and still to learn a lot for what´s yet to come.

Thanks for your help!
