swap using 240 engine

hi i am going to do a swap on a 1992 hard body truck i bought i have a 1990 240 engine that looks the same but the oil pans is diferent and so is the dipstick, wich is on a diferent place.Have anyone here do this swap. I also notice that the oil pan will touch the swing bar and wont fit, any help will be apreciated, thanks........ ohh btw the reason why i am doing the swap is cuz the old engine is apart and will rebuild it later thanks

Search the forum - this one has been brought up several times. There are actually quite a few differences, but if I recall correctly, the truck transmission is not a direct bolt up to the 240 motor, and the motor mounts are located differently.

The electronics aren't the same either.

so will i be able to use the same internals and keep my block and all that can i built the truck engine with the internal parts of the 240 engine like pistons cranck shaft and all that???? thanks

first. Learn to freaking write man! Use punctuation and pay attention a little in school, geez!

Secondly the 240 engine you have will work fine, you just have to massage the area of the pan where it and the main bearing girdle contact. You can cut it and re weld it shut or use a hammer and clearance it that way. Far as the dipstick goes you can re-drill the hole. peace.
