You can rent them from Kragen, Auto zone, Pep boys, etc... Not sure how much.

My guess is more expensive than how much it costs for installment, eh? Because otherwise people would just rent them, instead of paying others to do the installing for them.

Installation costs $1500+, my engine hoist cost $200 from pepboys.

Its worth buying and engine stand or finding a friend that will let you borrow his or hers.

if you plan on taking the motor out often then it's worth it. It's only 15$ for me to rent for 4 hrs. That's all the time I need to put it in. The ***** part is the wiring and minor problems. I was going to get a stand for my KA but I said FuK it. That's a autometer boost gauge!! hehe.

If your asking this, I suggest you think alittle more about sr20. Its not all movie stars and magazines here. Alot of us bleed, sweat and curse our cars. A big chunk of us have had our engines rebuilt, and even some of us are going thru our second engine (me). I wouldnt change a thing, but im just warning you.

Be prepared, have another car, and any monetary sum that you have equated in your head, double it to be safe.

Other than that, good luck, and we r here to help.

BTW, I have a cherry picker in my backyard, if you want it, you can have it.

180crafter, way to put it. I've been researching for awhile and I THINK I am now ready for a swap. Even though I have really good knowledge of motor swaps, I still don't know everything. We're not trying to scare you, but preparing you for future outcomes. SR's RULE! Damn the CA!!!!ahahaha.
