how hard would it be to swap a 1995 240sx motor into a 1990 240sx that has a 12valve. do they pretty much line up or is there alot of moding needed?

Iv swapped a mx3 motor into a probe GT, they look identical but emmisions were completly differant and threw me off, so was wondering if its like that.
