I want to replace the Nissan Emblem on the rear and front grill on my 2009 Nissan Muarno LE with an Infiniti emblem. I would also like to replace the Nissan Logo on the steering wheel as well with an Infiniti emblem. I am not sure if the emblems from an FX or EX or the such would work. Not really sure how to go about this project.

I am located in the Washington DC area. Does anyone know of a place that could do this type of custom modification?

Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hmmm, this sounds shady, it's my guess that you'd be hard pressed to find someone to help you do this. You'd have to get the logos from a wrecking yard because you can't just buy the logos, Nissan would consider this fraudulent to brand a Nissan as an Infinity, as would your insurance company, and state/provincial vehicle registry, and future buyer if you were to sell the car, to name a few.

I'm pretty sure this is illegal, depending on the state or province you live in, because it is fraud. I'd recommend not pursuuing this, but that is just my opinion.

Wow - I had no idea this was potentially illegal? I didn't think you had to have the correct manufacturer's logo emblem on the car? I thought it was just for advertisement for the PR of the car company. If it is in deed illegal - I have no interest in it - I was just trying to have some decorative fun.

Thanks for the info.

I'm not 100% on that, and like I said it probably depends on the state you're in but I'd just be careful and maybe check into it a little further. Maybe someone on this forum can help out too, I just didn't want you to get into something that you might regret later...

It's not illegal.

Personally I think it's ... Pick up the emblems from your Infiniti dealer and have a go at it

Agreed .. it's not illegal. There are no Infiniti in Japan. They are all Nissan. Ever thought of just de-badging?

I remember the time a Pizza delivery guy pulled up in my driveway in an old beat up Honda CRX...with a beautiful Ferrari emblem on the front hood. I recall looking at the pracing horse and laughing at the obsurdity of it.

I don't know if it would be as obvious to as many people with an Infiniti logo on a Nissan, but the premise in my mind is the same.

I've got a better idea. Why not replace the Nissan badges with this:

Infiniti badges on a Nissan would look pretentious, but Datsun badges would be a conversation starter, showing the owner to be a true connoisseur of Nissan history!

I have to agree there is no legality issue, as long as the car is still claimed to be a Murano. In the states you can put any type of badge on your car, assuming it is not the VIN label, or if fraud is/has taken place.

I would remove the ones you have (with the exception of the airbag mounted emblem) and try a few, you can make it whatever you want. I would remove the Murano emblem and leave the others personally, it will keep it clean looking.

Good Luck,
