I havent priced everything yet, so I dont know. But i was wondering if anyone know what would be the best thing to do price wise? a FWD SR20DET BB swap in a 1st gen, or just turboing the KA motor? labor is not of any importance to me. I will be doing all the work myself

why go w/ smaller displacment?depending on your local laws, you'll prolly not be able to pass emissions.

my altima was faster than 2 different sr20dets at the track this weekend. ( in lighter cars )

actually, i've been researching it, and i think I will just turbo the KA. in the long run, it will be cheaper just to get the car running. too much fabrication needed just so you can have a driveable car

I have a ceramic coated downpipe and wastegate, turbonetics evolution, retails for 200, (and fitting to connect the two) that bolt right up to a T3/T4 turbo and fmax/turbonetics manifold for sale...150 plus shipping for all three pieces.

I am keeping the Fmax/turbonetics that I have now...just going to have some of the welds cleaned up next weekend. I should be on a dyno by the begining of august.

Must have been some awfully bad tuned SR's or horrible drivers.

A BlueBird into a Altima is not as straight forward as one would think. It would be much easier to turbo the KA, but without rebuilding it, it's not going to be no where near as strong as the SR.

^ comparing a KA24DE with a bolt on turbo kit, isnt quite the same as a SR20DET. without a build, the best comparison would be a KA24DE(T) and a SR20DE(T). both originally N/A, but now with a bolt on turbo.
