Swap NAV unit into my non-NAV equipped 2017 QX50

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

We just bought our 2017 QX50 and found out too late that bluetooth equipped doesn't mean BT AUDIO. I found a totaled 2016 QX50 someone local is parting out that has the Premium Plus option pack with NAV to swap into my 2017 QX50 non NAV system. I have some experience swapping devices on other brand cars. I'm just unsure if it's only the Display and the AV Control unit that are needed to swap out or if there are other sensors, harnesses, control modules or ??? that I'll have to pull out.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

It's very unlikely that your Main Harness will have the connectors to support the Navi. From what I can see on the WD's, even if you have Bose you'll be missing at least one major connector plus the AVM module and its connections (and maybe cams too). You're talking about bigtime re-wiring if it's possible at all without new Main and Body harnesses.

Far cheaper to buy a BT adapter.

Thanks for the help. :bigthumb: I've gone down this road before and that's what I figured. I know BTAUDIO is a popular complaint with several of the Infiniti models but I've searched a bit and haven't found an aftermarket solution to add Bluetooth streaming audio yet.
Maybe if there was a wiring diagram for the head unit or amp and I could tap in a 3.5mm or RCA connectors even. Any thoughts?

not worth the cost and effort for essentially and outdated system. plus the bluetooth in the nav system is only bluetooth 2.0+edr, pretty old standard. you'd be much better off getting a grom v-line or maybe the nifty city multimedia kit. that'll give you carplay and android auto. much more usable.
