I'm two months () into my sr swap - I'm putting a s14 motor in a s13 car - so far EVERYTHING has been a pain in my a$$ from the hood not closing because the hot pipe comes up to far, to a gashed oil pan to wiring issues that would make a Kid Rock roadie faint. Right now I'm stuck on a fuel issue. Namely, there is way too much of it. I went with the 550cc injectors and upgraded fuel pump (Walbro), and yes, new Z32 MAFS and remapped ECU. Everytime I try and start the car I get a growl and maybe a sputter but then nothing...just like I had flooded the engine. I know the injectors are firing, I have spark, compression is good, the fuel pressure is good - essentially, I'm all out of ideas! What should I be checking? Help!

Are you certain that it is a fuel problem, ie: have you eliminated other possibilities such as timing, etc? If I remember correctly sr's use a tps that can get installed 180 degrees off pretty easily. This would still allow it to spark, have compression etc...but not start.

Not the tps the CAS (cam angle sensor).Anyways, check timing and I would check the FPR to be sure.

Yep the CAS is a culprit on a lot fo swappers...BTW- what ecu did you go with? JWT? Unless its settup for exactly 550cc injectors you will be running like *** even if you do get it started... bogging and possibly damaging the cylinder walls from flooding.

I would recheck your wiring to everything, the CAS, and fuel filter/fpr and all fuel connections to make sure the return isn't hook'd up to the feed (don't ask  ).... good luck,

Austin

Yeah, I used Jim Wolf ( 2 months later.... :) - big line of customers apparently...) We've checked the CAS, the fuel regulator, the timing, etc. The mystifying part is that I'm getting accurate fuel pressure. The battery is a good Occcam's razor suggestion but I tested it , I know that's not it... - oh, the frustration :bash
