Ok, so i know you are going to BASH me for asking this... I have a couple of GM longblocks sitting from some old trans am projects.. Anyone ever looked into putting a Carb-ed 4.3l GM v6 into a 240?

I have a 92 240sx.. it would be tight and i would have to put a riser on the hood to fit... but it would be a FUN ride!!?? that is if i can get a set of struts and a thicker sway bar to support it!

Tell me your thoughts!

Though there are simpler swaps out there, if you have the time and another car try it. You will love it when its running right and if not, nothing the gt??r twins can't handle. Nothing is wrong with being different, if you think so see sig

Strange you should ask this. I was really sick a couple of weeks ago, and work really beat me down. That Friday night, I finally started getting some sleep. I was having all kinds of fever dreams. In one of them I was driving my car to the gas station and after fueling up my red hatch turned into a coupe. Then it was a white coupe with a Silvia nose. While stopped at a red light, I was staring at the back end of a blower. I pulled into another gas station and in my dream, my 240 was a white Silvia with a blown 350 sporting 2 piece T/A honeycomb wheels. Must have been at least 10" wide in the rear. Dont know what this has to do with a V6, but this image is very clear in my mind. I want one!

wow man! that was an acid trip if i ever heard of one!

It'll be about a year before i start measuring and trying to fit it but i think i will play around with the 4.3l v6 i have.

All i need to make it an EFI system is the ECU for it. has everything else already on the motor + i have the 5 spd 4 it.. i took it out of a wrecked s-10 that had only 10,000 miles on it!! brand new!!

***gettin the itch to stich the b**ch into this winc****

Isn't the 4.3 a widely known problem child? I'm not to up on my American engines so forgive me if I'm mistaken.

Didn't a certain Pontiac T/A and a certain Buick come with a turbo six a while back? I would suggest you eyeball the V8 conversions used by the truck guys and do some reverse engineering. Somebody out there has a kit to install an LS/LT V8 into a 240, so it may work out.Its good to see some out of the box thinking. I personally would not mind having a Honda powered 240.I was telling my brother about my "dream" car. I showed him some magazines with Silvia's and he nodded very approvingly of the thought. 800hp white Silvia, low and wide with flares on the wheel wells. Shiny hood pins and that Weiand blower sticking out of the hole in the hood........I think I need to be alone for a minute.....

Grand nationals...buick made them... they are hella hard to find in junkyards or anywhere else....but that IS the exact motor you want to drop in it. I was just discussing this with one of my head engineers yesterday.

But it should fit easier than a v8. though its not going to be easy to put in anyways...it should be worth it in the end..

Good luck!!!

I have also been considering a b-series honda swap as well...but that's just my love and need for 9,000+ rpms... I have an integra gsr thats almost as fast as an evo. =)

I love it.Awesome thoughts by the way.

Well, I was actually thinking about the K20. (or whatever is in the S2k) I am an n/a guy, always have been. Going all motor is a commitment like nothing else.I have also had thoughts of an SR20DET powered Chevy LUV pick-em-up truck.Volkswagen Corrado, as well as MK3 Jettas. I think ther is something wrong with me. I just dont like new cars.

I like the k20, mines a b18c, n/a and it rocks too. N/a is quite a commitment...lots of planning. not just simple pistons rods, etc...very particular planning. I also was speaking to the same engineer about a chevy-luv with a rotary rx-7 motor. =) crazy swaps are always nice to see. We figured because the 1.3l rx-7 rotor motor is so small....its drop in easy into virtually anything.

The two of us being pickup-drifters for the last 12 years....we thought that the pairing would be nice.Or a Toyota Hi-Lux with a madman rotary would be sick too.

Nah man, T100 would be waaay more sweet than a hi lux... but any mid-late 80's toyota pickups would do fine in my book.

Although I dont know too much about the model generations to be honest.
