Well I have my ca swap almost finished. I have been working on this thing forever and am glad to be where I am at.

I tried today to get the car started. However, all it would do was crank. I am going to trouble shoot more tomorrow but figure I would save some time and ask a question.

This might sound like the dumbest question in the world, but after looking over the wire diagrams I don't have a clear answer. The car does not have the alternator installed at this time. I have a custom one being made locally. I didn't think this would cause a problem, but would the alternator need to be installed for the car to run? I figured it would run off the battery.

Your engine runs off the alternator. It will run without a battery but not without an alternator. you answered your own question.

So I guess then if I hooked it up the bad alt and cranked it, it should start. Just would drain the battery.
