swap 300zx motor and trans for infinity j30 motor and trans

I need the motor and trans for my 91 300zx n/a 2+2. this guy is selling me the motor and trans cut from an 93 infinity j30 n/a. Will it work. is there any benifits or negatives in doing this.

They have the same motor and transmission but slightly different exhaust systems. ECU control is probably different, too.

I really don't know. Z32.org could answer some of your questions.

The Zna was rated at 225hp vs the J's 210. The Z's greater power was accomplished primarily by a more agressive exhaust. Sports car vs touring car tuning.

When ever you swap motors you R&R the newish motor while it's out and easy.......resealing valve covers and oil pan, new gaskets gasket, deal with sensors and brittle harnesses, injectors, etc. Spend a day or two swaping cleaning making the newish one ready for a good future.

Yeah I agree Thats kinda the problem with my motor now. I decided to fix a oil leak coming out of the valve cover on the driver side. After pulling the intake off the hoses on the side were brittle and cracked and know they are sucking in air. After I finished I tried to drive it but It started knocking and I limped it back to my shop and parked it. I noticed I was getting no oil pressure. Also the egr tubes were filled with oiley gunk that I took a hanger and cleaned out. This was about a month ago and I haven't driven it since. I had also just bought a new trans for it piad 1000 dollers for it and it doesn't shift right it holds onto 2nd gear until I floor it a little then it'll shift.

I hope I'll have better luck with this new motor and trans.
