As a parent, my only advice to other new parents is to find a way to stay involved in their kids life!!! Don't just watch, but participate!! Don't just watch them play sports, but volunteer to help coach.
I've tried to by coaching sports teams, taking MA with my children, and now learning guitar with them. The payoff is that they give me hugs all the time, tuck me in at night, and enjoy hanging out with us even in public!
