Does anyone here have any experience with this bike? If not, does anyone have any experience with any other bikes that are 600ccs? Becuase I really want to get a bike as soon as I turn 18, so I thought I would start researching early.

The GSXR is a great bike.... as far as 600cc bikes go, I'd prefer a CBR. What specifically would you like to know. Opinion is just that, as far as figures for weight and performance I'm sure all of that is available from other sites.

Any of the GSXR's will be wicked and the quickest bike in their class. The cockpit is very cramped, so it would be best if you were one of the little people. The CBR is very quick and much more comfortable IMO.

I think it all comes down to price and personal preference. Don't forget to look at the Yamaha R6, although if it's your first bike I wouldn't go with something quite so damn fast. They can get away from you, but don't ask me how I know.

Stock vs. stock... without a doubt the GSXR will win hands down. But the tuning potential of the CBRs seems to be endless. Leave it to Honda to dominate in the cheap after-market upgrades! The cockpit is very cramped, so it would be best if you were one of the little people. The CBR is more comfortable and stable, it feels less likely to kick out.

YAMAHA R6 100%What's with a suzuki...OMG, they're almost as bad as Kawasaki...I raced dirtbikes for a long time. Suzuki is typically unreliable, maybe quick, but the honda CBRF4 will definately take you around the track and don't even ask what the R6 would do to you.Wes-Chris' Roommate

Man I love cycles. I'd have to have something bigger than a 600cc bike though. One of my friends has a CBR 1100XX aka the Blackbird. Very sweet, very fast. I also like the VMax, customized of course.

hmmm, if it has to be about nissan, what engine should i put on a bike? i'm thinking a VG30DETT might be too big. suzuki sport bikes are pretty cramped. i think buells are cool, but the engines aren't very good. better to start with a smaller bike and not go straight to a high hp bike. you don't want to flip it over backwards doing a wheelie. i started with an 850 though. heavy as crap.

I dont know, that RB26 would kick some *** if its on a bike. :D has anyone seen those boss hoss bikes. the ones with a ****ing V8 in them! OMG, those things are hella fast and damn scary.or you could always just swap a SR20 motor in a bike, cause im sure you'd land a spot in, Import Tuner or SCC. :D

woah, I didn't expect this thread to be so popular. But sorry i didn't get a chance to finish asking my question(1st period was over before i could finish it). I was wondering if anyone had ridden a GSXR 600 or any other 600cc bike and how they compare to each other. As for all the stastics, yeah I already found all that stuff out before I asked. But thought I would get some opinions on it.

the only one i rode was a honda CBR600F4I. i went to a dealer and just asked to test ride a bike (vfr800) but the dealer said i had to be approved for financing first, which i wasn't even though i was only going to finance 2k and personally owned my car. while waiting i sat on the 929 and 600 and thought the 600 was nice because you could stretch out more than on a 929. i went to another dealer, and they let me ride a 600 no questions asked. the guy told me it was already sold but let me ride it anyway. very nice and powerful.

why do you want a bike? if you want to race it definitely get a cramped sportbike, like the suzuki. if you just want to ride it around town and look cool, the honda is less racey, i.e. more comfortable. brand new 600cc sportbikes are fast, light, and not good to learn on. buy something cheap and weak that you can thrash and not worry about damaging body panels. you can learn how to ride well, and then get the 600 without making stupid mistakes and hurting yourself and your bike.

SR20, RB26 are probably too big for a bike, along with the VG30. I would want to make it a fast sportbike, not a monster like the boss hoss. how big is a CA18DET? that might fit into a sportbike frame.

For a first bike don't get caught up in how fast it is. Any recent 600cc sportbike is capable of more than you are and will be for some time.

Think about comfort & reliability.

I have found the VFR750's to be very comfortable and the CBR's and FZR's too. GSXR's are painful, the pegs are to high and there is to much pressure on the wrists. Some people like Katanas but I don't care for them. The ZX-6 is a good all around bike as well.

It's all personal preference. Go to a shop and sit on a whole bunch.

this isn't relevant but i saw a newer suzuki sportbike that had all the body panels covered in blue fur. It was long fur, too. i thought that the engine would be too hot and fry the fur but i guess not. at the same place i saw a VW with POWER KRAUT on it's back window.

Everyone here seems to like the po-mans 4s.... Anyone ride a twin? Once you try a (ducati...superhawk..etc) riding a 4 is just plain wrong feeling...katanas are a good sport commuter bike with a little power but for any racing or anything forget about it... Quote »For a first bike don't get caught up in how fast it is. Any recent 600cc sportbike is capable of more than you are and will be for some time. [/quote] completely right...actually any recent 600 sportbike will be TOO powerfull for a begginer... i suggest something smaller. However its ur decision, but i think you will be agreeing with me once you wreck ur expensive new bike that u should have learned on something else...sultan you dont know what the hell ur talking about.....you have obviously never done any racing on a sportbike. Hondas less racey? Suziki cramped up? Go to any race track (sears point, laguna seca) and you will see the top placers both the cbr or the gsxr...it comes down to driver skill. The only thing you got right was start out with something small... And any dealer that lets you test ride a bike, without being approved, and its already sold...is an IDIOT. I know i wouldnt want my bike underneath someone like you before i picked it up...

You fool!

The sportbike equivalent to a ricer is a Squid. Everyone knows that squids ride GSXR's.

The new VFR is way to refined for a Squid, it's a sport-tourer, not a true sportbike. Plus it doesn't come in bright neon colors like GSXR's do.
