Suspicions of Thievery.

Last night i was layin in bed with the gf and at about 1am i hear a car pull up and voices...now the first thing i do in the morning is look at the Q from my window...and when i hear a sound at night, i make sure nobodys around it. The gf was thinking im paranoid when i got up but...

some idiot parked RIGHT in front of my driveway and another car across the street from us. My gf was like wtf! lol i turned on the light and they didnt budge...probly didnt see me cuz i was on second floor. I had the finger on the panic button, then saw one girl get out of each car. theres two teenagers two doors down from my house and these LOSERS wearing "gangsta" clothing always come by and see the girls and one has a p.o.s mustang thats in terrible shape and the worst body style (91ish) and the other a beat up 4 door honda civic. wow bud. lol but one of them saw me the other day in the garage working on my system...he was lookign at me and i cant stand him already. Welp that car parked in front of my house was that mustang.

Doesnt it piss u off seeing punks around your car? im getting me a baseball bat. But im sure with dumbasses who think their "gangsta" got beat senselessly to the head, it wouldnt make any diff to their intelligence.

My ideas....ya think if i disconnect the rear door's lock function to the rest of the car i can only open it with the key? or maybe figure out a way to make panic go off if the rear door handle is pulled unless i activate a switch. Hmm. theres no way their pulling my subs out of the back seat it has to be the rear door. If they break glass...id hear it.

i guess no matter what you do to protect your ride, if you dont got a garage, you cant stop the dumbasses from getting in. After last night im thinking twice about getting a indash nav system that i cant take out at night

Whenever im last in the driveway I back it in. That way they have to walk up my driveway to get access to the rear hatch.

that sucks *** man i know how that feels..such incidents only motivated me to do my own tricks-pager alarm-custom box securely drilled into metal with the a custom faceplatethat presses the sub edges tight to the box-fuel pump shut off

of course i haven't done any of that yet (except the van comes with a fuel pumo shut off hehe) but its all in the works

On my 02 ive got the factory alarm or whatever but i have limo tint windows all the way around except for the windshield. Thats my security for now. But I live in utah and park in a place where it wont get disturbed. Im only worried about the people out there that hate me and want to break **** rather then random guys.

people think tint is security but it cant be further from the truth......tint shows that theres more likely stuff to hide inside. also when you shatter a tinted window...all the glass sticks together...an untinted window it shatters everywhere, so it makes it less messy for thieves to get in if breaking window is method of entry.

Man I hate when that happens, I park underground and I am paranoid as hell! Even a pager alarm wont notify me....but in your case, it may be well worth it. Even though if a theif wants your vehicle, they will have it or whatever is in it.

when it comes to stealing the car itself im not scared, thats covered on insurance i guess. Id hear it start too but im pretty sure by then i couldnt stop them lol but the best method to prevent stealing is a killswitch to the battery or ignition. cars totally unstealable.

that is tru the tint just makes it easier for them to break into ur car with no noise, on my maxima i used to have i had tinted windows and they broke my passenger window to get into my car, i woke up in the morning ready to go to the beach only to see my broken window and my car was still running, they had the car running with a screwdriver, only thing that stopped them from driving it away was i had a steering wheel to brake lock, which is useless if u have the right tools guess they didnt , all they would have had to do was cut my steering wheel to get it off

either way they still managed to pop my trunk with the trunk release button on the door , steel my system amp, cap , tools everything i had stored in my truck plus a school bag of important personal information i had gathered up to apply for NYPD , ss # , hs diploma, bank statements , i left it in my car one night not thinkin anything bad would happen

i had to go thru a whole mess watching my credit reports , closing accounts etc

since i got rid of that car i decided with my path i didnt wanna really hook it up to draw attention , allthough im getting bored of stock look

i have limo tint all around except for my back window, i have a black curtain if i want privacy from the back window , the back window is just stock tint , i never limo tinted it bc wen its limo tinted people tint u got sumthing to hide like a system n gonna break into ur car , i never close the cargo cover bc they will think u hiding sumthing valuable

as much as it sucks i do want a system again i miss the bass but untill i get a safer spot to park in NY i will do without

no matter if sumone wants ur sh*t they will find a way to get it, but in the end bad things happen to those peole who want ur sh*t for free wen u worked hard to get it

a good thing to do if u dont want them driving ur car away , which i didnt do that night my car got broken into but i used to do it from time to time is just pull out ur fuel pump fuse , and thats it, ur car will start and within few seconds stall out and not start again, by the time a crook figures out what the problem is they would get caught

luckily the qx4 is not sought after by thieves.... as long as u dont have any extensive exterior modifications, thieves dont even waste their time for 3 years i lived in the ghetto and parked my QX4 in the street with no problems - a friend came to my house for the first time with an acura integra he just bought and it was gone within 20 minutes (just to show you what type of hood it is)

and watch out for them thieves, you can go at them with a bat, but remember they are carrying a minimum of a screwdriver and some of them roll around strapped... half of them are hopped up on methamphetamines so they are ruthless

I've only been broken into once, my last car (crappy Chev Lumina). All they took was the face off my cheap $80 deck, a couple original CDs (most of mine are burnt), and spare change. No way they would have gotten more than $20 out of the whole thing.

Still, the next couple weeks I was totally paranoid. I parked in a well-lit parking lot and my car was pretty much right below my balcony, so I was peeking out all the time.

The main reason why I don't put a decent sound system into the Pathy is because it'd just get in the way when I need to put down the seats and haul stuff around. But there's also fleeting thoughts about me laying down a grand or so and some douche just plucking it out. And really, no matter what preventative measures you put in, there's always a way around it.

I've always said I'd love to hook up a capacitor to the vehicle and wire it to the door handles... the same one I use for my subs, 1 - 2 farads? Though knowing me I'd probably just kill myself eventually. Or kill someone else and get in a lot of ****. Or something. But it's always fun to think, right?

*meh* San Diego is goofy. I used to live in a semi-nice neighborhood that was two blocks from serious ghetto (they used to put the elementary on lock down whenever there was a gang funeral) and they broke into the '91 honda civic (the LX sedan type nobody rices) and looked through all my crap (didn't find anything, it was my POS DD).

Then I got my QX4. Nobody touched it for months, except for some punk who decided he needed my spoiler and had a screw driver handy to pull it off. I'm sure it's sitting on the back of some ****ty 4-tone honda right now.
