Suspention problems

I installed after market springs and struts on my 240, and the rear struts shot through the top of the assembly the day I started driving it, so now the rear end is sitting on the springs alone. I was told there was an easy fix, but they couldn't remember how to do it. any ideas would be great.

a little bit more elaboration on "it shot through the top" you mean the nut shot off? is the spring dislodged from the perches? details and or pictures

the nut and washers are all still on. when the car hits the bump, the rod doesn't compress into the strut, it pushes through the top of the suspention. let me know if ou need pictures, I will go take some....

uh, if it's as I think it is after your description, it may have blown through the upper mount, although there are supposed to have been a thick washer and then the bushing. Did you assemble everything back in order with everything in place?
