So now that my plan to install the Megan Coilovers is failed (only fits Standard Q45 not touring), I just do not know what to do. I installed the Tein springs and KYB SR Specials about 8-9 years ago and they worked perfectly for most of that time. Then I started with the left front hitting primarily on when turning right and going over a bump, but now it is all the time on an aggressive right turn.

My mechanic replaced all the rubber bushings on sway bars, end links etc. so that is eliminated. My mechanic thinks it is the springs, however, today when I returned the coilovers to VEX Motorsports in Santa Clara the guy told me no way it is a bad strut. He is actually looking into both Espelir springs and another set of KYB SR Specials for me to see if he can source.

What are your opinions? Right now the way the car runs I would have to give it to charity.

I would take a break from the car for a while. Because the way you took care of the car there is no way its in that bad of a shape to donate.

What is the ride height at? Is it equal from side to side?

I know, it is killing me. The car is in amazingly good shape, 8 out of 10 outside and 9 out of 10 inside. The car height from the Tein's was a 2" lowering and they measure perfectly on all sides, there is no sagging. It is the same ride height it was when I installed everything. I have M45 Sport springs with 22mm spacers and 245/40 19" wheels. Again never had any issues until 6-9 months ago when the hitting started. I hoped it was rubber bushings on sway bar which were shot, but it came back and now much worse.

I really wanted to drive the car for another 2-3 years before moving on as I kept the car in great shape.

Its hard to diagnose a car with aftermarket components that were never meant for it.

Have you tried polyurethane VS rubber? I know the ride comfort will be decreased but it may stop the rubbing?

Well the springs were made for the Cima, which a few people on the board said it wouldn't work because of the weight of the V6 vs. V8. But the fact was first I didn't know that when I bought them.

I could try poly but not sure if that could really make any difference on the one side.

take it a good independent old fashioned "front end and frame" type shop for a inspection....sounds like something is bent, possibly a strut tower?

that is a good idea, I will ask my mechanic if he can confirm. It aligned okay when he put it back together.

did you call memory fab and ask if they can get you the kyb's? I called about a moth or two ago and they told me they can still get them but takes about two months to get to them. I'm also dealing w blown struts but mines are not as bad as yours, I hope to replace mines before it get to your situation. sucks most of these parts for these cars are discontinued. do m45 springs really fit the q45 strut? I've never thought about, how's the ride/ handling?

I don't know for sure if it is the strut or the spring at this point. If I cannot find another set of springs I am not sure I would spend the money for another set of shocks. If I could find both at the same time, then it would be worthwhile. I have this guy looking for the Espelir springs and KYB SR's, I will see what price he can do, but they also do installation, which at this point to have the source and install from one place would be worth it.

I don't think m45 stuff fits our cars, it was a different car entirely as I recall, wish they didn't kick Falk off this board, he has 98' and now has 03 M45.
