Just had car in garage for tune up, not dealership. Indie mechanic says I should think about changing shocks, only 115,000 kms on 02 I35. Says the job would be $1500 - 1800, any comments, that you can print. I am a new user so be kind and gentle

You would be able to do better on the price if you purchased the shocks seperately. However, you probably wouldn't get a warranty on the work from the mechanic.

My question to the mechanic would be, "Why?"

Are the struts/shocks blown?
